Maria Qayyum

Chief Operational Officer (COO) – Founder

Maria Qayyum is a promising young entrepreneur, founder, innovator, climate activist, and environmental scientist who is particularly concerned about plastic pollution. She recognizes that plastic is an integral part of modern life, but also understands the harmful impact it can have on the environment. She began researching how to develop a biodegradable plastic using discarded materials. As a result, she was able to synthesize biodegradable plastic from potato peels that have the potential to replace traditional, non-degradable plastic. Her research interests include Polymer Synthesis, Processing, and Characterization, as well as Polymer Composites and Blends/Membranes.
